“Let us speak the language of joy and love to one another”
This is what Rev. Fr. Dario V. Cabral of the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro labrador told the Dominican faithful as St. Dominic Academy of Pulilan, Inc. commenced its Family Rosary Crusade 2023.
SDA’s 29-year-old devotion to Queen of the Most Holy Rosary of La Naval is themed this year as Mary, Queen of the Holy Rosary, Companion of Every Family.
In his homily, Rev. Cabral pointed out that we should spread the joy of love as we travel the streets to proclaim it.
“Ipakita natin na hindi nakakatakot magmahal,” he said.
Fr. Cabral enlivened the Dominicans with a relatable remark about how people are looking for their special someone and that there is no harm in loving.
He followed it with the phrase from Pope Francis which says “To the young people, go into the streets and make a mess” which means that the faithful should not hide Jesus and they are in liberty to proclaim the Kingdom of God.
“The most tender love we have discovered was revealed when Mary stood under the cross of Christ,” he also said.
According to him, the key to love lies in the power of the lover to be silent before their beloved just like Mary who chose to mourn the death of her son in silent acceptance, and St. Dominic de Guzman who kept his mouth closed while holding the rosary.
He ended his homily by reminding Dominicans to express their gratitude to God and Mary for teaching the faithful how to love and allow the joy of love to shine within them as they also share it with those around them in the community. #
