On the 6th day of SDA's Family Rosary Crusade 2023, Rev. Fr. Stephen Kirth Buluran gave emphasis on the reality of angels as he presided over the mass, Monday, October 2nd, the Feast Day of Guardian Angels.
Rev. Fr. Buluran said that everyone has their own guardian angel who will guide them and bring them closer to God.
The faithful are told that they will never be alone; guardian angels are always there, ready to be their light amidst the darkness.
“Noong tayo ay bata pa, tayo ay tinuruan ng panalangin sa guardian angel. Every one of us prayed this but as we grew older, we forgot to pray and talk to our Guardian Angel,” he said.
He also said that when a person grows up, the belief in guardian angels gradually fades away, leading to a sense of selfishness, and the belief that we can do everything on our own.
This neglect of seeking guidance from God, who is almighty and loving, is a reminder of people’s weaknesses as humans.
Angels are ever-present companions in everyone’s life. It is important to maintain the faithful's connection to them by seeking their guidance through daily prayer.
Fr. Bulusan’s homily came to a conclusion with an encouragement for the Dominican faithful to emulate Mother Mary, who serves as a model for an angel who carries and delivers the word of God.
Dominicans are reminded to be grateful for their angels’ service and constant protection, guarding them from daily terrors and steering them toward their ultimate goal to enter God’s kingdom.
